FULL-TIME POSITIONS:
 
SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN – Primary support for Fire Department Mobile Data Computers, Computer-Aided Dispatch systems, GIS and UHF/VHF/800 Radio Systems.  Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff.  Proficient with MS Office 2003 Professional Suite Products.  Strong knowledge of Windows 2000 and Windows XP work stations.  Knowledge of HEAT Help Desk Software preferred with basic knowledge of SMS remote control and Ghost imaging software. Sixty college hours of technical school and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  City or county experience working with Fire or Police department. 
 
Team Specialist - Provides for consistent and accurate enforcement of The Woodlands Covenants. Provides a high level of customer service and administrative assistance in support of the Team Leader and Residential Design Review Committees.  Responds to citizen complaints pertaining to violations, investigating and carrying through with abatement procedures.  Possess knowledge and understanding of the Covenants, Standards and Codes for each of the associations in order to properly assess and respond to complaints, requests for improvement, applications and plan review.  Ability to communicate and provide information to property owners, developers and other interested parties.  Process applications and notice of violations; verify accuracy and completeness of information; perform site inspections as necessary.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as Covenants, development standards, building codes, plans, blueprints and technical documents.  Bachelor's degree with one year related experience.  Must be proficient in MS Office Suite/applications, GIS, AutoCAD.  Highly organized and able to thrive in an environment with changing priorities.  Excellent customer service skills. 
 
Foreman – Supervise crew, assigning daily work tasks, completing routine administrative tasks.  Must be familiar with most facets of tree care, native species and their habits.  Will be responsible for inspection and identification of hazard trees and for implementing the Forestry Management Plan.  Requires an advanced level of skills and knowledge.  HS Diploma with 4 years related experience and/or training with two years supervisory experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Forestry may be substituted for years of experience. 
 
Crewleader – Forestry
Under the immediate supervision of a Parks Supervisor or a Foreman perform skilled and semi-skilled work related to maintenance and renovation of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways, and landscape. Advance knowledge in forestry with experience working a chain saw and chipper machine with one year related experience and/or training.  Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements, commercial license preferred. 
 
Forestry Laborer – under the supervision of a Foreman perform work related to the maintenance and renovations of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways and landscape.  General knowledge of forestry with experience working a chain saw and chipper machine.  
 
 
2008 Summer Positions - Aquatics
Lifeguards, $7.50/hour.  Training classes for positions will be provided at a reduced rate to successful candidates. 

Contract Employment Only at The Woodlands Recreation Center:
Sport Referees – knowledge and experience in the game of men’s soccer, flag football, and basketball; and co-ed volleyball.  Contract position only, $20.00 per game. 
 
Gorilla Hole Staff - High school or college students to help staff the Gorilla Hole.  Must enjoy working with kids and be at least 16 years of age.  Contract position only, $8.00 per hour.  Duties include supervising 5th and 6th grade kids from 6-10pm on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Fridays of the month.  Call Pamela at 281.210.3950 details and application.
