FULL-TIME POSITIONS:
 
Financial Coordinator - Activenet program administration, management and training, coordinate system upgrades with Department staff, investigate outstanding items and resolve in a timely manner, maintenance of database. Audit daily cash reports, invoices and check requests for compliance with company's purchasing and approval policies.  Provide coded and approved invoices, credit card statements and check requests to Finance department for timely entry into AP system.  Assist Finance department with Purchase Order Software questions and problems; ensure PO's are created in a timely manner when necessary.  Prepares reports for funds, grants and projects to accurately track revenue and expenditures.  Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office (specifically Access and Excel) and Activenet Software (or ability to obtain in 6 months). 
 
Foreman – Supervise crew, assigning daily work tasks, completing routine administrative tasks.  Must be familiar with most facets of tree care, native species and their habits.  Will be responsible for inspection and identification of hazard trees and for implementing the Forestry Management Plan.  Requires an advanced level of skills and knowledge.  HS Diploma with 4 years related experience and/or training with two years supervisory experience.  Bachelor’s degree in Forestry may be substituted for years of experience. 
 
Construction Laborer - under the supervision of a Foreman perform work related to the maintenance and renovations of parks and recreation facilities, grounds, pathways and landscape.  General knowledge of construction and maintenance repairs. 
 
  
Part-time Positions:
Receptionist (30hrs/wk) – greets and assists visitors at the Recreation Center.  Provide information on programs, activities and events.  Assist with membership registration.  Receives and sorts the mail.  Takes payments for services and products.  Performs clerical duties.  Issues permits for park pavilion, recreation center, athletic and aquatic rentals.  Excellent customer service skills.  One year related experience with MS Office experience. Recreation Aide (20hrs/wk)
Greets and assists visitors to the Recreation Center.  Answer phones and routine questions, perform cash handling duties.  Provide information on programs, activities and events.  Monitor users of recreation center and participants in recreation programs to ensure orderly conduct.  General office clerical duties; input data into computer for program registration.  Issue permits for park pavilion, athletic, recreation center and aquatics rentals.  Perform facility opening and closing procedures.  Assist with recreation programs, activities, special events and events as required.  Work hours include evenings, weekends and holidays. 
 
2008 Summer Positions - Aquatics
Lifeguards, $7.50/hour.  Training classes for positions will be provided at a reduced rate to successful candidates. 
 
Contract Employment Only at The Woodlands Recreation Center:
Sport Referees – knowledge and experience in the game of men’s soccer, flag football, and basketball; and co-ed volleyball.  Contract position only, $20.00 per game. 
 
Gorilla Hole Staff - High school or college students to help staff the Gorilla Hole.  Must enjoy working with kids and be at least 16 years of age.  Contract position only, $8.00 per hour.  Duties include supervising 5th and 6th grade kids from 6-10pm on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Fridays of the month.  Call Pamela at 281.210.3950 details and application.
